Plan for winter vocation and spring semester

As this semester is coming to the end, I have already had a plan for the winter vocation. Since I'm an exchange student from China, I must come back home after the semester ends. I am so excited because I never left home for more than 2 months, but this time I have been away from my home for 4 months, I miss my parents and my little sister so much.

After I come back home I will go to my favorite restraunt and have Chinese food with my family, I miss the traditional Chinese food so much. Since the New Year is coming, I must help my mother do some housework, prepare all the stuffs that we're going to eat and use for celebration and the several days after the eve. Spring Festival is so special for Chinese people, so I think I will be very busy before it. During the spring festival we will go to my grandparents' house to have a dinner with them, my grandmother misses me very much, she often gives me a call and ask me when I will come back, so I will spend two or three days staying with my grandparents. After the Spring Festival I think I must study, because I want to come back to the U.S. to get my masters degree after I finish my bachelors’ in China, I must prepare my Toefl and GMAT test, they are so difficult for me, but I think after several moths exercises I can get a satisfied score.

Then the next semester---spring semester, I will study in China, I will take some compulsory courses like statistics, Fundamental of Finance, international trade and some optional courses, music appreciation, basketball, and computer science. I like the music course best, because it can prevent me from becoming too narrow in capacity. The healthy growth of a student requires not only an intelligent mind, but also an ability to appreciate the beauty of artistic creation. In my spare time I need to prepare my Toefl and GMAT test, I have to make a study schedule to make sure I can finish my learning tasks. It must be a busy semester.

2012, we all die ???

December 21 2012 has been suggested as the end of the world, each as we know it. Some say that on an ancient Mayan calender 2012 points to the end of the world. other say that for Nostradamus 2012 is also a possible doomsday.



I don't know if it is true. Some people don't believe it at all. They said that given past doomsday predictions and prophecies about the end of the world, earth should ended by now. since the earth is still here, it would be fair to say then that, to date, all prophecies and predictions about the end of the world 9before 2012) have faild.

But many people think it is true.

Two years ago, Patrick Geryl, then 51, quit his job as a laboratory worker for a French oil company. He'd saved up just enough money to last him until December 2012. After that, he thought, he wouldn't need it anyway. He started gathering materials necessary to survive — water purifiers, wheelbarrows (with spare tires), dust masks and vegetable seeds. The Twilight saga ---I love vampires

These days I am reading a novel---twilight.

Black Friday

I got up at 5 o'clock in the morning and went shopping. I was so excited because this is my frist Thanksgiving in Chicago in U.S.
Many stores were not open early in the morning, but Disney store was open at 6 o'clock, I like mickey mouse, POOH, Princess and all the Disney characters,
I bought 6 pendants, they are so cute.


I bought my mum a handbag, it was much cheaper, I hope she will like it.

Go to california

On thursday Nancy's uncle invited us to go to his home in Orange Country California, I heard California is a very beaufiful state in the U.S, so I was so excited to go there.

Her uncle's home is near the Disneyland, so we went to the Dinsney theme park on friday. It is really a magic Kingdom, I love the Mickey mouse, pooh, princesses and a lot of cartoon characters there.

It's a wonderful trip.

Comparison and Contrast:
Chinese breakfast and American Breakfast have something in common.First, we all eat breakfast in hurry, nobody want to be late for work, so we must spend less time on breakfast than dinner. Second, the material is similar, we all make the breakfast with rice, meat, egg and milk, for exmple,the Chinese congee we eat a lot as breakfast look like the oatmeal in America. Chinese always like to eat fried eggs in the morning because people all think we need more protein to build up. Milk is also a very common thing in both Chinese and American breakfast. Last but not the least, Some kind of food we eat for the breakfast have the same source, an example from the article is the pancakes, it said that:"Pancakes: First adapted by the French from China and Nepal in the 12 century by Crusaders. Americans then took this recipe and used it themselves", although pancakes come from China, it is also changed the recipe now.
Even though, Chinese breakfast and American Breakfast have a lot in common, we can't ignore the differences between them. The biggest difference between them is the species. In China, you can not find a fixed breakfast if you travell to different places, in different place people have different food habits, in southern part of china, sweet food is popular but in the northern part Soy Milk and Dough Sticks is more common. while in American the breakfast seem similar in different places. In my opinion another different thing is that American breakfast is more nutritious than Chinese breakfast, there are many kinds of food in American breakfast, like juice, Cereals, fried eggs, meet, more food can provide more energy to us, however in China although we have a lot kinds of breakfast in different places, but in every place they have only one or two kinds of food, for example, people may eat only noodles or only drink soy milk, eating such a breakfast is more dangerous, Chinese peolple should take more care of their health.

Halloween

Before I came to America I knew little about Halloween, and this year I was lucky to see how Americans celebrate Halloween.


They celebrate Halloween just like in the American movies! American people invest tons of money into their perfect costumes, go to parties, watch scary movies, carve pumpkins, children go Trick-or-Treating, and all these things are so fresh to me. In the Target store I saw many kinds of candy, they looked very delicious. I also found many strange costumes, and saw many people who dressed like a bloodsucker, he is so fearful but cool. I like Halloween. Some religious people don’t celebrate Halloween, but it is all just for fun and it doesn't hurt anybody. Lots of people start planning weeks and months in advance to make their Halloween party memorable. A traditional game is Bobbing for Apples. Halloween parties can help people relax and relieve the pressure from the work and study, so even though Halloween is not a modern festival, it is better to continue to celebrate it in modern times.

My blog includes a lot of informtion, so the theme is not clear. I just want to record my life in the Unite States. This is the first time I Leave my home so long, my family miss me so much, so do I, they pay close attention to my blog to see where I go to visit and what I have eaten recently. Downtown St Paul

Today my friends and I go to the downtown St Paul, this is the capital city of the Minnesota.Saint Paul is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in the history of the Western world. Just a quick look at the headlines of his life are enough to understand his impact; his works are some of the earliest Christian documents that we have, 13 of the 27 books of the bible are written by him, and he's the hero of another, Acts of the Apostles.

Famously converted on the road to Damascus, he travelled tens of thousands of miles around the Mediterranean spreading the word of Jesus and it was Paul who came up with the doctrine that would turn Christianity from a small sect of Judaism into a worldwide faith that was open to all.

invite my parter to my home

I find a language parter last month, a very nice woman, Deb. We meet each other twice a week.I help her Chinese,and she helps me English. She always says she likes Chinese food, so this weekend I invite her to my home to have a dinner. She take her husband to my apartment on saturday evening. My friend and I were busy preparing the dinner for them.

This is the first time for me to cook such a big dinner,so I cook from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, I made some dumplings ,Tangyuan,Pork ribs ,chicken and other cookies.

They like my cooking so much,we nearly eat all the food. we were so happy.

Snow

Yesterday, it snowed. In my hometown people still wear flimsy clothes. My friends didn't believe me I had weared the coat, but when I send them some pictures about Minneapolis,they said that was so cool.
In the snowy day,I went to the restaurant with my friends, I enjoy the American breakfast,it is so delicious.
I also thought about some films that was related to the snow when I saw snow.I like the images about snow.

Bridge to Terabithia

We have a exam on Terabithia, this a very good novel, the friendship between Jess and Leslie touches me so much. I find the film on line, that is really moving,I like the film and introduce it to my friends,I hope more people can enjoy this wonderful film---

Mid-autumn festive

Tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Day, it is a very important Chinese festival. It falls on the 15Th day of August in the Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese people celebrate many festivals according to the Lunar Calendar, but most western countries would follow the solar calendar.
A few days before the Mid-autumn festival around the time of the autumn equinox.This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits, vegetables and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant.
On that day, we will eat moon cakes , moon cakes have been made with sweet fillings of nuts, mashed red beans, lotus-seed paste or Chinese dates, wrapped in a pastry. Sometimes a cooked egg yolk can be found in the middle of the rich tasting dessert. People compare moon cakes to the plum pudding and fruit cakes which are served in the English holiday seasons.

Today,festivities centered about the Mid-Autumn Festival are more varied. After a family reunion dinner, many people like to go out to attend special performances in parks or on public squares.
People in different parts of China have different ways to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. In Guangzhou in South China, a huge lantern show is a big attraction for local citizens. Thousands of differently shaped lanterns are lit, forming a fantastic contrast with the bright moonlight.



I plan to invite my friends to my home to have a dinner together, maybe we cannot eat some moon cakes, but we can eat some dumplings instead.

last month I went the State Fair with my friends.I ate many delicious food,like hot dogs, cookies,fresh milk. It was really amazing.






I often go to the Mall of America,I like shopping with my friends in the mall.There are so many shops in the mall,I like the PINK very much,I bought two skirts there.

On Sep 12th ,the president OBAMA came to the Target Center to give a speech,we were so excited to meet the president.
